We are now one of a select few Gites in The Dordogne that can boast this accolade and hope that this will give future visitors even more reason and confidence to book with us — as Sawday’s themselves say „We only select the very best”!
Late October saw Stuart and a number of guests from Denmark take to the skies by microlite from the local airstrip at Belves. For as little as €40 for a twenty minute flight we were able to see this part of the valley from the air. Chateaux, towns and villages, beautiful countryside and of course Maisons La Boissiere.
The Final Push

Thanks to our fabulous neighbours we were able to open Maisons La Boissiere officially at midday on Saturday, 3 hours before our first guests arrived.
We now have three beautiful Gites, each with their own particular character and style.
La Boulangerie being light and contemporary, La Vieille Grange having African influences and La Maison Perigourdine is typically French, lemon and blue hues highlighting the fabulous old beams and wood.
Dining Al Fresco in La Bugue

The arrival of July in the Dordogne means evening food markets — yum! Long trestle tables are set out in village squares and plentiful, delicious French fare waits to be sampled. Reasonably priced wine and beer are for sale to complement the food and this is followed by music and dancing for those wishing to work off those extra kilos! Such fun and a must for everyone visiting the area.
On every night (except Mondays) these wonderful feasts are available. Within twenty minutes of Maisons La Boissiere there are many to choose from including Belves, St Cyprien, La Bugue,Cadouin, Audrix and La Buisson.

All hands on deck as everyone gets involved in the final stages of the refurbishment Maison la Perigordine! This Gite has strong Dordogne and French influences and we have kept many of the original features, such as the beams, staircases, quaint shaped windows and huge walk-in fireplace. The smell of lavender wafts through when the double doors open. Just fabulous!
