La Boulangerie

"Cycling Heaven"

We have just had the most wonderful break in the Dordogne at Maisons La Boissiere. It was an excellent spot to explore the Dordogne and we had some fantastic bike rides around beautiful countryside and on such quiet roads. Our hosts were so welcoming and advised us on where to go with great spots to stop for coffee and lunch, nothing was too much trouble for them. The gite was comfortable and well equipped and at the end of a long day on the bike there was a lovely pool to relax in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already booked to come back in September.

"Experience Life In Rural France"

We spent 1 week in La Boulangerie, a wonderfully restored cottage, with all the comforts of home. The cottage is perfect for 2, with a porch which overlooks the Valley making morning breakfast and a glass of evening wine most enjoyable. The cottage was very well stocked, clean and a wonderful bed. Waking in the morning to distance bells, and the sounds of birds was a treat.
Upon our late evening arrival Stu provided a lovely dinner, which was the start of a very memorable stay. Stu was always available to answer questions and provide suggestions for villages to visit and wonderful drives to take. Unfortunately Tish was away so we did not meet her, but she and Stu have created a great home away from home well situated to allow for great day trips. Thanks for the memories from 2 Canadians who wanted to experience life in rural France.....and did.

"A few days of heaven"

Beautifully restored spacious and well appointed accommodation amidst the incredible scenery of the Dordogne. We visited a local market the mere thought of which stirs the taste buds. The Dordogne, beyond its beauty, is full of charming little villages and has a rich history which has been preserved. Tish and Stu are wonderful hosts-nothing is too much trouble for them. Truly a home from home.

“Our first guests”

We are very fortunate and honoured to be the first people in La Boulangerie. What a lovely, comfortable, quiet cottage which has suited Rose and I perfectly. Stuart and Tish have been thoughtful, caring and generous hosts, and we wish them all the success in their enterprise in the future. We are sure that it will be hugely popular, and certainly we will sing their praises to our chums.

"Le Grand Maisons La Boissiere"

We spent a wonderful week, along with two other couples, at Maisons La Boissiere. The classical Gite is atop the river bluff, in a picturesque relaxing setting, with a stunning view of the Dordogne valley. The Gite's location is perfectly situated for forays throughout Dordognes valley and villages. Stu & Tish could not have been nicer hosts providing us with great service, accurate recommendations, great conversation and genuine hospitality. In addition Stu & Tish, were knowledgeable about Dordogne amenities and provided us with great suggestions on daily junkets. Because they are themselves world travelers and have spent considerable time in South Africa, they were even willing to take time and share their expertise, coaching us on how to take an African safari which is also on our list of places to go and things to do. The stay was great fun.

"Something for everyone"

Looking after 3 generations of Rennisons was always going to be a challenge for anyone but we all came away with that feeling that we'd all been properly looked after by Stu and Tish who were the kindest and most genial of hosts. The gite itself was a delight with fabulous views over the Dordogne - often a dramatic fog early in the morning covering the bottom of the valley and then glorious sunshine by mid-morning. And great to discover that all the gadgets worked - TV with UK channels, Wifi, cafetiere etc. We made a few forays to the local sights but with two young kids who needs more than a pool at the bottom of the garden? We'll be back.

"Beautiful, peaceful, lovely holiday"

What a fabulous start to the day - having breakfast on the verandah with the view and the early morning clouds through the valley. Stu and Tish have been such good hosts and with such a warm welcome I'm sure we'll be back again soon.

La Maison Perigordine

" A Little Slice Of Heaven In The Perigord"

This is an exquisite place to while away your summer holidays. Rustic but with all the modern touches that make a self-catered holiday a pleasure. The extras that Tish and Stuart lay on for their guests make this an outstanding holiday destination. The house and gardens are well looked after and you feel that a lot of love and thought has gone into this business. We certainly didn't expect the level of service that these two lovely people offered and even our ginger nut Vizsla made two new doggie friends too! Hopefully a return visit will not be too far away.

" A Great Escape"

Just had a great week at La Boissiere where we based ourselves for a road cycling holiday. Stuart and Tish were excellent hosts, recommending various places to visit and eat and also cooked us some meals in the evenings - we enjoyed the trip to the local micro brewery too. The setting is fabulous looking over towards the Dordogne and the large pool area very relaxing. The houses have been renovated very well and are in keeping with the area while still being very comfortable. Our bikes were kept securely locked away in a storage area and the rides from the door were fantastic in every direction.
A great week with great hosts, thanks.

"Fantastic location in the middle of everything"

We Can highly recommend Maisons la Boissiere. Old, comfortable and spacious houses, renovated with very good taste and situated in The middle Of wonderfull Dordogne with short driving distance to a wide variety Of sites. A lovely pool to cool Off on hot southern afternoons and very sweet and helpfull hosts to receive, informe, and advice us about everything as sites, restaurants, roads, leisures etc. The only regret we had was, that we could not stay longer Than three nights at Maisons la Boissiere.
